Stellar has played a crucial role in completing the UF Health Durbin Park, a significant 42.5-acre health and wellness campus in St. Johns County, Florida, aimed at enhancing access to advanced medical services across Northeast Florida. This development marks a major step in expanding healthcare infrastructure to meet the growing needs of the local population.

The first phase of UF Health Durbin Park includes a three-story, 72,000-square-foot medical office building and a five-story, 220,000-square-foot hospital. These facilities are strategically located within the burgeoning Durbin Park community, offering a range of specialty medical services. Stellar served as the primary construction manager for the project, while Gresham Smith led the design efforts.

The medical office building, known as UF Health Durbin Park Medical Office Building 1, provides a comprehensive suite of services, including general surgery, gynecology, heart and vascular care, laboratory services, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, outpatient rehabilitation, pain management, and urology. In contrast, the adjacent UF Health Durbin Park Hospital offers 99 inpatient beds and a 24-hour emergency department, catering to acute, intensive, and emergency care needs with state-of-the-art facilities like operating rooms and advanced imaging laboratories.

In collaboration with Batson-Cook Construction through a joint venture, Stellar managed the project execution for the hospital, ensuring the seamless integration of essential medical amenities. Additionally, Stellar oversaw the construction of a standalone central energy plant, which provides vital infrastructure support to the entire campus.

The completion of this phase is part of a broader $1 billion investment by UF Health Durbin Park, expected to generate approximately 2,000 jobs in the region. This development is designed to accommodate the healthcare demands of the expanding populations in St. Johns County and Jacksonville, offering improved access to quality medical care.

Stellar’s involvement in the UF Health Durbin Park project further cements its reputation in managing major healthcare construction projects. This partnership with UF Health highlights the company’s commitment to supporting vital infrastructure that enhances community health and well-being.
